Comprehensive VDV-CA com-pliant IT solution for electronic fare management
Electronic fare management (EFM) offers chances for the future in terms of marketing, pricing, and sales in the public transportation sector. All currently available concepts for integrating electronic fare management seek to realize the principle of interoperability: Whether local, regional or between networks or countries - the goal is the area-wide integration of cross-platform fare management. To realize this goal, data and interface standards have been developed by institutes that regulate the technical interaction of systems and the organizational relations of the players.
The Association of German Transportation Companies (VDV) has defined this standard in the VDV core application (VDV-CA). The Siemens subsidiary HanseCom GmbH offers a complete eTicketing solution on this basis. The IT solution delivers eTicketing processes covering the registration, verification and accounting.
The sales back office system PTnova is scalable enough to assume all the tasks from a single company within an interoperable and integrated transport network to a regional system. Participants can be mapped in separate SAP clients and in just one SAP client without losing their accounting independence.
